Rocket Command Logo

RF Transmitter

The transmitter operates at 433 MHz frequency and has an effective radiated power of 10mW. Whilst this may not sound that powerful, for a rocket in the air, it enables the rocket to be tracked and the direction located from several miles away, if a sensitive antenna is fitted to the receiver.

The transmitter comes in the form of a pre-assembled module. The module uses surface mount components to reduce size, and is small enough to easily fit within a tube of 25mm (1 inch) diameter.

The modules are available in the UK through electronics manufacturers and distributors such as Radiometrix, RF Solutions, Farnell, RS and Maplin.
