The Elephant Mud WWW Page
Welcome to the Elephant Mud WWW Page!
Welcome to the official Elephant Mud WWW Page. This page is now back up
after a lengthy down-time caused by an 'accident' (for lack of a better
word) that happened to the old one. Herein, you can find a wide range
of information about the Mud, the people who run it and other associated
topics. We actively encourage feedback as to your opinions of the page, and
any suggestions you may have for it.
Whats new in the
world of Elephant Mud
Elephant Mud is a constantly changing place, and while it would be
impossible to list here all of the ongoing changes, certainly anything
major, such as site changes, current problems, major developments or
the like.
Elephant Mud has been around for quite a while now, and is rather
long in the tusk. Do you remember the early days? Do you care? Follow
us along a trip down memory lane....
Who, I hear you ask, are these 'Wizards' of whom I hear repeatedly?
Ahh, well. The Wizards are the people who create the mud environment
through which you wander merrily. You will find herein a list of them
all, along with some of the more well known players.
Elephant Mud is governed by a set of laws laid down by the Wizards.
Every player should be sure that he or she is up to date on them. You can
also view the laws set by the Drakenwood Council
Elephant Mud is a big place. Most of the players live in the town of
Drakenwood, which nestles in a cove next to the Anduin Sea, but the
Western Realms, in which the mud is set, extend far beyond this. You can
see here a map of the Realms, find a timeline, and various other snippits.
Meeting people on the mud is fun. And sharing a pint of virtual beer
could even be construed at being sociable. Real mudders know, however,
that mudmeets are where the fun really is. Want to know more? Want to see
some downright stupid photographs of people pissed out of their skulls?
Then look no further.....
The best way to learn about Elephant Mud is to simply log on! You can
do so with any telnet package, or, if you're feeling a bit lazy, you can
simply click here.
Elephant Mud has an open access FTP site available, from which you
can download histories, documentation and the like. If you have written
anything brilliant that you would like looked at, you can leave it in the
'/ftp/open' directory.
Ornan, that cunning devil, has written
a lovely little program to allow you to see who is on the mud, and then
finger anyone you choose. Click here to try it out for yourself.
Jonathan obviously has FAR too much time on his hands, as he has
coded a den on iniquity in which you can leave
all manner of messages related to the mud for others to read.
