We are pleased to announce that Rrath has finally joined the ranks of the Wizards! At the same time, he has also changed his name, and will be known as Rrenn from now on.

The JaNET connection into the Linx switch in Telehouse London has no w been upgraded. The practical knock-on of this is that people from academi c sites should notice vastly faster connections to Elephant. Additionally, w e have an increasing connection to the states, and thus US players are finding things a lot faster also.

Elephant Mud now has its own Internet Domain! Thus, from now on, you will always be able to get to the mud by connecting to: Elephant.org 4444.

In fact, there are a number of new hostnames now set, including:

The Elephant Mud Web page is now up and running at www.gbnet.net /~maa. Mind you, you must know that or you wouldnt be here :). It is enchan ced for Netscape 2.0, but should happily support Mosaic and Lynx. Any proble ms with it should be reported to the email address on the front page.

Important changes to combat announced. Severs will now do damage rel ative to the strength of the limb (ie less on low level players, more on h igh).
