Hm. Replacement network cards (Linksys Etherfasts) don't work either. However, I was slightly more on the case with this one as I managed to download some updated drivers and set about installing them. However, the RPM I downloaded from www.scyld.com failed on tulip.c - which was the driver I needed updating. Grrr. I'm really not up to recompiling kernels and the like yet. Pah!
This rash is very bizarre. I think it could be a heat rash but it makes no sense as I didn't have the slightlest indication of sun allergy whilst I was in Sydney. I could be something else like fabric softener or something equally as trivial. Thankfully it fades when I roll a tumbler over it!
So another day gone when I could've been doing other things. Ah well.
Nice and sunny of late.
I've had a bit of a boy racer weekend. Not sure what brought that about, but Jon pointed it out last night as I shot up the M4 slip road shouting "come on have a go if you think you're hard enough" at some oik's souped-up (lowered suspension, big fat pipes) Rover 400. Trip back from Reading included a Saxo-taunting session. He was sitting right on my tail on the M4 at about 95mph, so I pulled into the left lane and upped to 98 (his top speed) then giggled gleefully as we encountered an incline and he disappeared into the rear view mirror. I'm pleased by such tiny things some days.
Chat with Matthew in the afternoon about bits and pieces. Not long now!
