Today's mood: :-)

Sydney

Whee! We're here! We stopped off briefly in Brisbane for refuelling and stuff and that's where the heat - or more accurately, humidity - hit me first. But it's by no means unbearable.

Tobes met us from the airport and we presented him the with two litre bottles of Mardi Gras Stoli handcuffed together with fluffy pink handcuffs. Cute.

Got quizzed at immigration because I hadn't put an address in my "where are you staying?" box. I didn't want to put an address because I didn't know Toby's, but when she asked me "where are you sleeping tonight?" I replied with "I'm here for Mardi Gras. I don't know yet." She wrote "unknown" in the box and stamped my passport, before giving me a wry little smile and waving me through.

I have seen four Mildreds and a Mildred shop. And a Lotus Elise.

Oxford Street is mad. Simply full of cute gay boys, all jaw-achingly gorgeous with their ripply tanned torsos glistening as they stroll up and down the street with gay abandon. Chatted with a very nice barman in Midnight Shift who must've been all of nineteen, topless, and with a Prague-boy-in-porn-film face you'd kill to shoot over. I'm working on that one, although Toby reckons he's straight.

Had a bit of a whistle-stop tour in the evening; Bondi Beach, Sydney Harbour Bridge, Opera House, and a few government buildlings. It really is quite beautiful.

I grabbed an hour's sleep this afternoon but all in all seem to have coped quite well so far with the journey. I don't think I managed to sleep all that well last night.

I must get an Australian internet provider as all these calls to the UK to get my mail will be silly money.

My party tickets were in my case after all. Panic over! I had to buy some new sunglasses (AUS$80) because I sat on my last pair on the plane. Oops.

Squeal! I'm here!!
