Today's mood: :-)

Woo! Finally some work to do! I'm so happy. Well, obviously I'm not wonderfully overjoyed about it as I'd rather have been lolling in the sun as today was glorious, but it's better than nothing.

Never mind.

Jon wasn't in this morning so I got the wonderful jobs like sorting out the Exchange server (which was bouncing mail) and other such fun stuff. At lunchtime I went to the pub with Rupert before heading over to Finchampstead to pick stuff up from the other office.

I'd forgotten where it was. I know it's near an army barracks and the woman talking me in didn't seem at all peturbed by my "It's unlike me to have not been able to find four hundred young men in uniform without needing directions." The bloke who answered the second time was slightly more peturbed by my "They have a rugby field? What side of the road is it on?" question.

After that, I headed over to KAG in Basingstoke to pick up bits and pieces for the Barbican exhibition and got asked if I'd like to work there. Oh, and could I move the car please as I was blocking someone in. Rupert's Saab (company) is nice. Quite good fun to drive although the steering wheel's in the wrong place for me (no matter how much it and the seats were twiddled) and the clutch-foot rest is teeny and difficult to get your foot to. The important things, obviously.

So - I was quizzed about what I was going to do post-AI and explained that it'd involve doing as little as possible for as long as possible and then coming back with no idea what I was going to do next. The result of that was that I've now got another client (whee!) for whilst I'm away and a possible job (if I pursue) when I get back. So that's good. And all my stock finished up nice and green today. I wish I'd bought some PALM though. Oh well.

I am aware at the moment that I am a bit bloaty-larded. Well - not desperately (up to a 33" waist and about 11.5 stone) but more than I should be. Experience has shown that a few weeks' effort in the gym will deal with that but it's getting round to it that's the problem at the moment. I'll think about it after I get back from Brussels, simply because that'll give me two months to do things like, um, not eat before I get to sunnier places where I might want to remove clothing. Pas grave. Anyway. I did spend the weekend shagging a cute French 23 year old to heaven and back and get told by another one that I was incredibly sexy (something to do with the accent, admittedly) so it can't be all that bad. Jon pointed that out.

Rattly noise turned out to be £230 worth of new cat for Mildred. It's annoying - all those things that are expected to go wrong at some point actually going wrong - and all at the same time. Still - she's still coming with me to France as there's nowt actually wrong with her. I mean, these are still routine things (although I'd be interested to know why it went) and I can't think of many more things that can go wrong. She will go if she fails her MOT.

I have smoked again today - mainly because Jon and I were in the office getting the new box working until 1.30am or something ridiculous and he sparked up. Only four though. I'm taking tomorrow afternoon off to do some organ bits.

Long chats with Matthew and DaveL. Both seem well.

I need to sort out what's going to happen with my stock certificates for August.
