Today's mood: :-)

Wayhey! I'm off to Paris with Lyssa for Easter. But it was a nightmare organising transport! All the flight prices had gone up as the time before departure had gone down. So the plan was to try Eurostar instead because we thought it would be more convenient, really.

When I called Eurostar in the morning, they said it would be £160 - far too much. So I called AMEX who said it'd be £95 - much better. As I was booking that though, the seats went, so the price went up to £120 - still not bad. In the time it took to get hold of Lyssa and ask whether the price was alright (would've been easier if she'd taken her mobile with her at lunchtime!), those tickets had gone as well. AMEX couldn't get flights under £188 so I ended up making my first online flight purchase: £119 from Expedia. They couldn't do hotels though (too many to make searching sensible) and the boy at AMEX didn't understand Parisian arondissements. Oh well.

I was annoyed with the man from the hotel we're staying in because I rang up and did my bestest French at him and he switched to English instantly. Smug git. I did send the confirmation fax in French with a little assistance from Owen; I find written French quite hard.

AMEX did offer me two Business Class Air France seats for £460 all in, but we didn't really want to spend much more than £100 getting there and £100 on a hotel (we've spent £231 so far) so didn't go for that. Would've been fun, though! We're going with Air France anyway, but only cattle. Hell - it's only an hour in the air!

AMD recovered, slightly. I will sell if it tops $30 again. Orange sent a reply to my email which dutifully I replied to.

Work was good. I fixed the bug in the config front end I'm doing and then we realised that we needn't bother writing a shell version (which I wasn't going to do, oddly) as my thingie works in Lynx. So that's our console-based configuration system. Well funky!

I had two - or perhaps three - cigarettes today. I saw my first livestock bonfire on the way home.
