Following 10 years of piano lessons when I was younger, the practice seems to have paid off, and I actually seem to be able to tell the white keys from the black ones. I played the violin for about 6 years in the distant past too. My musical interests range from Baroque, Mozart, Beethoven, Wagner, through to Gershwin, Blues, Rock and Celtic Music.
