I woke up quite early and did some bits and pieces for work as it turns out I'm back in the UK in just over a week for two weeks or so of work. Some of that'll be with Jon (who's in the States at the moment) so hopefully not too foot-stampy!
I bought a leather jacket in Limoges. I decided I was going to buy myself something lovely so there it is. (Straight) William bought one the other day and got it for a remarkably good price so I decided I'd copy him, unashamedly. It's black and dead butch and smells absolutely gorgeous. Ever since I saw Geoff's, I've wanted a big leather trench coat but they're very expensive and I always break expensive things. Traxx William has one too which really looks good - although probably not if he wore it over his Hallowe'en drag, actually. Anyway - it looks good with my ruffty-tuffty snarly lip and goatee. I need a cigarette permanently hanging off my lip as well for full effect.
Last night Brian and I decided we were going to write a cookery book with a bit of a twist to it. I ran the idea past Philip who seemed to think it would work. We toyed with a guide to restaurants on the Périphérique as well but that would involve going near it again, so I might postpone the research on that one.
Just before we started cooking our highly-alcoholic dinner, Brian declared he would be happy to take out my stitches, "once [his] hands had stopped shaking" after "another beer or two." We toyed with this idea but thankfully he couldn't find his suture scissors, although Yvonne suggested her Swiss Army Knife might be up to the task. I declined their kind offers once they'd moved onto discussing whether you could get stitches out with a Stanley knife and have decided to go to the doctor tomorrow and pay my 140 francs. I must remember to pick up an E111 when I go back to England. I have lovely American Express health insurance but the problem with claiming on insurance is that they'd probably want to know every in-and-out and would end up suing Marina or something. Best not involve insurance companies.
Watched Men in Black in the evening with Simon, Steve, Yvonne and Esme.
There's a huge Leonid shower due around the 17th November. Unfortunately I'll be in the UK so I won't be able to see it unless I drive at high speed back to Hereford and hide in a field. I haven't figured out whether I want to take Mildred back with me this time or not. The advantage is that I can load her up with alcohol and leave it at home for when I'm next there or something, and if I'm going to be in the UK for two weeks a car would be incredibly useful. We'll see.
Must book tickets to Morocco and New Zealand at some point soon.
