Today's mood: :-)

Today was gorgeous. Somehow, I managed to wake up quite early (really, before 10am - quite astonishing!) so was up and out as everything was just being gorgeous. Gorgeous blue sky, no clouds, strong sun - and cold and fresh with dew over everything. It's just unbelievably nice.

Brian and I went to the market in Piégut to see whether there were any bits and pieces worth buying for when Pip arrives tomorrow. Nothing particularly exciting - the fishmonger's son has clearly gone back to school - so after some wandering we ended up in a bar having lunch.

Our real lunch turned out to be a chicken bought from one of those mobile rotisserie places. It was the end of the morning and he had loads so we bought a big juicy one which was taken back to my house and devoured with fabulously crunchy bread. We didn't eat it all so it's been turned into a quite meaty soup for tomorrow with huge carrots and stuff. I'm quite getting into this cookery malarky.

Brian's in the evening for a big Eddie Izzard sesh and some wine drinking. A few cashew nuts as well just to help soak up the alcohol. (Didn't have munchies at all, oh no...) When I left the sky was fabulous again.

When I got home I logged on and did a bit of a mail check, then ended up chatting to Rees (who I've not spoken to for yonks) for about 45 minutes. He's fab.
