This life of contracting actually seems to be quite good fun, really. Yesterday I dragged myself out of bed at about 10am, had some coffee, had some food, then had a shower and headed up to Finchampstead for a meeting at midday. I'd asked for it to be at midday so I could spend the morning in bed. Which I did.
So the meeting went well and the proposal I put together was accepted. Figures have been amended upwards which is surprising because I thought I'd managed to charge a little more so they could barter me down. Hurrah!
Last night I had the most bizrre dream. It was quite warm and muggy so I left my bedroom window slightly open so get some air through the place. Woke up at 3am after a very bizarre dream where I was in the other room with Nicola and we could see faces outside the window who were menacing and not nice faces. Very strange indeed. Closed the window, naturally.
Today I woke up at about 10ish, lolloped around, read some mail, had some coffee (I've now run out), ate some toast, had some lunch, watched some telly, then wandered to a client for 3pm and had meetings. Billable, of course. Proper works starts there tomorrow for a couple of weeks.
Simon rang me when I got back from work to tell me he was on a training course in Reading, so I headed over there after dinner and took him to the Wynford. Bumped into lovely Simon from Swindon who said he'd been texting me (as I had him) but we'd not managed to communicate. I blame Genie. as it's been quite pants recently. We swapped numbers and he gave me an erection.
Dan was there as well so we chatted for a bit as it's his last night out in Reading for a while. There was a guy from Newbury out as well but he went all funny when I offered him my phone number and suggested calling if he fancied going out but not driving. I tried pointing out he was with his boyfriend (who was bigger than me) so it wasn't a come on, but he didn't understand. Ah well.
Dropped Simon back to the hotel afterwards and drove home with the roof open and the music up. I can't wait to be doing that on the wrong side of the road.
I think Mildred is running slightly hot. I must check her radiator thingie tomorrow. Actually, I must remember to book her for a service before I'm miles from Oxford. She'll need a new electric window (because I've not got round to sorting that) and a general check-up. I don't understand what mechanics tell me when they say it in English - let alone in another language.
Whee! Not long now!
