Yay! Samba works! I'm dead chuffed. Admittedly, I nicked the configuration files off one of the machines at work but it works so I'm happy. I have up trying to run Samba as a password server and just set share rules for myself in smb.conf instead. Probably insecure or something but it works. Lots of progress at work. Lots of stuff done - and looking good too. Tried re-installing Windows tonight because I've been running 98 and it's not my copy. I have a Me disc (!) which came with the PC but I soon discovered it's only a rescue disc and I don't actually have an installable operating system from the manufacturer - which strikes me as a bit wank. I might get an Action Pack which will give me 2k Professional - amongst other things. We'll see. All is set up and ready for me to use at home to do work on. I'm quite excited by all that. In time for Monday, as well. NatWest stuff arrived today. All seems to be going to plan. Prague tickets researched but not booked. Probably August 2nd to 7th. Rah. | |||
