Oops. I didn't wake up until mid-afternoon then just lolloped around a bit before going to Reading in the afternoon to have my six monthly eye checkup. That was quite good - it's the first time I've been to the Reading branch of The Eye Clinic but they were fantastically thorough and I even ended up with a new pair of glasses.
I was slightly put out by that because of the fact I'd chosen a nice pair of specs that were really stylish. Then I realised the only reason I needed them was because I'd wear them whenever I didn't have lenses in so couldn't warrant buying a £200 pair of glasses for occasional use. Outed myself briefly with a "Phwoar, he's cute," followed by "An opticians is not the right place to letch from!" to which I replied, "No, absolutely not. An opticians is the right place to letch from because you can be guaranteed you can see what you're going to get." Greeted with much mirth.
Jon's in the evening for dinner with Rob, Liam and Nicola. It's Rob's birthday so we got horrifically drunk and loud. I ended up leaving at about 2am with a sodium craving. I think it was a sodium craving because even after the meal I was craving savoury food and eating bits of salad with dressing on and stuff. Ended up having a huge kebab with garlic sauce on the way home - oh so healthy - and texting Peter from last night en route.
Watched Leauge of Gentlemen and Sliding Doors after the meal and having a generally fantastic chilled evening. Good company, fab food, nice wine. Left Mildred there and walked home, for obvious reasons.
Lots of text with Peter from last night. He's lovely. Local?
