Millennium Gloucester (238), London
I was woken up by Adam - who's over from New York for a quick weekend - calling to find out what we were up to and, given it was 9am, it's safe to say it was very little. Eventually, we agreed we'd get together for lunch and then do some touristy things. Adam doesn't speak French (Spanish, though) so I ended up being the interpreter again over pub Sausage and Mash.
Ed took Mildred because the hotel car park was £25 a night - which is a bit steep. That means I'm carless until tomorrow but it's hardly a problem.
We've switched rooms. I explained to the woman on the desk that I'd booked a double so we have one, and it's huge! You can fit about four people on the bed (not that I've tried yet) and more on the floor! Fantastic! A bit of a result, really.
After lunch - although Ed had disappeared after a drink - we all headed down to Westminster to do some touristy things: Big Ben, Parliament and the Eye - although we didn't go on it because none of us could be bothered. Instead we sat and drank coffee.
We hiked over to Woodford Green in the evening for Liam and Nicola's engagement party. There was plenty of Vodka and Red Bull - amongst other things - and it all flowed freely. Witty banter (with me being interpreter and ruining all the jokes in both directions) and more alcohol. Got Jeremy to read some stuff out of "N'Heures Souris Rames" which made those who were listening giggle a little bit, although most seemed more interested in the straight porn (eeuw) on the telly.
Discovered that getting people to give head is not "faire comme un pompier" but "faire comme un pompe." That explains the success rate, I guess. "Oups!"
I'd promised Jeremy we would go clubbing but we got so much into the alcohol and BBQ sausages, that by the time we were ready to go into town, the tubes had stopped and we ended up having to take a cab. We took the cab to Centre Point to meet up with Jon and Rob who'd just left GAY after squealing at Mel B. We had coffee and wandered back to the hotel to sleep.
Jon and Rob crashed on the floor.
I keep on thinking of Lyssa giggling at posters whilst we were in Paris.
Jeremy is very snuggly in bed.
