Today's mood: :-/

Well. The good thing is it's the end of the week, so I have a whole two days of nothingness, which I'm quite looking forward to.

Jon told me off for being in late so I pointed out I was ill and it was agreed I was ill but that next week I should be in before 9.30am every morning! Hm. Fair enough. I've been assigned a new project which is something to get my mind around; hopefully it'll keep me entertained. In the evening I mentioned my Friday intentions and the words "gardening leave," but nothing seemed certain. We'll see.

Work was just worky. Liam came down in the afternoon and talked to me about the specs he's done for me so I now understand how it all works. I think. We'll see.

In the evening, Jon had a mini-housewarming and myself, Liam, and Nicola attended. I showed Liam how to shop like a homosexual; 1) always queue at the checkout with the cutest boy in it, and 2) always buy a bottle of alcohol so you can find out whether he's over 18 or not when he holds the alcohol over his head to get someone to authorise it.

That was quite amusing, apparently.

Drank loads and ate some yummy chicken things Jon had made. Then all we did was sit around spiralling into drunken oblivion. Always a good way to spend a Friday night, I think. I remember falling asleep just as Jon announced he was going to piss off his balcony. Which he did. Very loudly.

My copy of SuSE 7.1 arrived.

Market's up. My AMD stock is just shy of $30 (whee!) and Redhat closed up 20% or thereabouts after last night's out-of-hours 33% gain. I'm quite chuffed about that. Not sure what to do with my TIVO stuff, actually. It's currently not rated well so I think I'll have to hold on to it. I'm toying with enabling margin trading on my Datek account for a laugh but it's probably not an entirely wise move. Credit being a bad thing, and all.
