Employment:

July 1996 - September 1996 (vacation)

Hostmaster and Systems Developer - Easynet Group plc.
Working as part of a small team responsible for all operational and systems development issues in a major European Internet Service Provider. I was responsible for all issues concerning the DNS and IP allocation. This involved liason with naming authorities, including the InterNIC and Nominet UK, whose creation I participated in as a member of their steering committee, internet authorities, such as the RIPE, with whom I successfully negotiated a significant increase in Easynet's allocation window, larger corporate customers, smaller home customers, potential customers and staff.
In addition to my prescribed job, I took the opportunity to involve myself with many other projects going on in the company at the same time including Easynet's successful LINX application and issues relating to Easynet's recently established branch in France. This enabled me to further widen my skills base and increase my experience.
At the end of my employment, I provided full documentation and training to my successors.

Summer 1993 - January 1996 (vacations)

Systems Programmer and Integrator - Systems Integration Section, Information Systems Division, University College London.
Working mainly on large scale distributed AIX UNIX systems and managed PCs. I was responsible for designing and implementing solutions and quickly solving and detecting problems both proactively and reactively in test and production systems. I also developed scripts and strategies to detect security breaches, which enabled the organisation to identify and prohibit several incidents of misuse.

Summer 1992

Systems Programmer - Finance and Systems Control Department, London Borough of Lewisham.
A work experience placement that gave me experience of large scale computer and data processing operations in mission critical systems.
