Marrakech
Another day of exploring things and having a wild time. Today was actually a little bit decadent.
Got up at about 11am. Descended for breakfast at about 11.30am. Went upstairs for a shower after a quick smoke but mysteriously woke up on my bed at about 2pm. Had a little smoke to calm myself after the shock of discovering I'd slept half the day away. Went out with camera and took loads of photos of everything then did it againt after sunset. Groovy photos of illuminated Mosques. We got a breathtaking photo of La Place jamaa El Fna from one of the restaurant terraces which was really quite groovy. Brian called Katie and said Hi!
In the evening, the "boy who does" cooked a tajine with meaty ball things and eggs and - ohmygoditwasgood!! All in all everything that was purchased for the meal came to about 20dh: about £1.40.
I've started reading one of Brian's books, written by the Dalai Lama - about improving ethics through thought and good judgement and stuff. His insights are truly quite fascinating. Will plough through that I'm sure.
Live music in the evening from one of the other Riyads close-by. I introduced our two to the Queer as Folk soundtrack (US edition) which had them bouncing happily. Owen bought it for me for my Christmas present. Lucky there is a CD player here.
Am learning the odd word here and there. Phonetically of course; I had "England" written on my postcards in Arabic and looks far too difficult for my tiny head to cope with.
So now I can say "Shuckorran" (thanks) and "La shuckorran allah warjib" - which is the correct response to the first if you're from Marrakech. I must get them written down.
We watched an electrical storm somewhere to our south from the roof. Very pretty.
Brian and I have been discussing where I should travel to next.
