Today's mood: :-)

Rolled out of bed really late - about 2.30pm - although I had been up for quite a while and just chilling and lolling so I don't feel too bad for it. And it's Sunday so it's supposed to be a day of doing very little.

After a cycle ride up round the back of Milhaguet (which I won't do again as it involved hills) I did lots of housework; two loads of washing and all my ironing. Not quite sure what led to that sudden burst of responsibility but I was quite impressed with myself.

Today I tried a variation I'd seen Brian do on normal tomato sauce for pasta. Usually, when I make a sauce, I fry my onions, mushrooms, garlic and meat (if there's going to be any) up with some oil and herbs and things, then add the tomatos and the tomato purée. Anyway. Today, I put my tomatoes in a separate pan, added the purée and herbs, then left it to simmer, covered whilst I got on with preparing the onions and mushrooms and things. When it was time to introduce the two, I quickly mashed up the tomatoes then poured the fried onions and mushrooms in whilst stirring. Very tomato-ey indeed and quite a triumph, I declared.

I've been using up the Olive Oil so I can try this new organic stuff I bought the other day. Mmmm.

Until I got to Brian's I was having a non-smoking day and doing quite well, actually. But then I decided to have a quick cigarette which turned into a big fat cigarette and a huge session of giggles. we watched South Park: Bigger, Longer and Uncut (which he roared through) and Wild Things which was somewhat disappointing as it turned out. It's been in my DVD collection for yonks and it was only last night that I got around to watching it. Good story, but far too prolonged.

Must think about tidying up before Pip gets here. Brian has challenged me to give up drinking as well as smoking, shagging and eating. Hm.
