Weather: 17 degrees. 5/8-6/8 cumulus (fluffy ones, right?) cover with a thin cirrus layer above that. Gentle southerly.
I cycled today and did some tidying up and other domesticated things.
Brian and I went to Traxx after I'd steamed us some trout with parsley potatoes and brocolli. Quite how, I don't know, but now when I wander in there people I've never met before bounce up and greet me by name. There are two possibilites: "Oh, there's this fab Englishman who comes here called James, you must meet him," or "Beware the English pervert called James who drinks here, but be nice because he spends lots of money on gin." Hm.
Three days without a cigarette! I bought a packet of Marlboro Lights to celebrate. It's not that I'm weak-willed. Oh no. It's because there was a guy in Traxx called Damien who looked like a miniature gay version of Mr Bunny, but fitter. He was scrounging smokes off people so I thought I'd be charitable and buy a packet of fags and occasionally offer him one. The result was I chain-smoked an entire packet and interrupted his conversation every three minutes but did get a snog and a grope at the end of it.
'Tophe turned up with some girlies who were really nice. I was slightly confused by the "We've heard all about you!" comment. Anyway. One of the girlies is a music student at the Limoges music school, so I now have a contact. I'm going to get my hands on the cathedral organ quite soon, apparently. I can't wait!
'Tophe's attitude towards me is confusing. Both Brian and Alastair commented on the looks I get from him, yet he's quite good and hasn't really made a move yet. Last night though, he was apparently undressing me mentally (I hadn't noticed as I was actually undressing him physically) and Brian reckons he's just teetering on the edge of pinning me to Mildred's bonnet and fucking me until my eyes pop out. I'm not convinced, although he certainly is putting out bizarre signals.
Undressing him was quite pleasant. I only got as far as his shirt, but that was worthwhile. I wonder what the French is for Rohypnol?
Panthère Rose afterwards for lots of very gay dancing and gin/rum/Desp/JD drinking. Not that I'm one to mix my drinks or anything. The guy on the door knows my name now. I don't think we've been introduced.
I have invited 'Tophe to Brussels.
I have decided I am going to extend my stay, at least until January. I'm having so much fun and my French is improving (albeit slowly) that it would be a shame to give up now. I may well have to find a job (eek!) but that's not too much of a problem. Limoges may not be the best place to find work, though. I might have to decant to Bordeaux or somewhere like that. If all goes well, I won't have to do any more work until after I come back from New Zealand in February.
