Today's mood: :-)

I was supposed to get up early in the morning so I could go to Oxford and retreive my new minidisc player before heading up in to London for an optician's appointment. Of course, what actually happened was that I ended up rising at about 1.30pm, cancelling my optician's appointment, having some coffee, then going up into Oxford to Richer Sounds.

Mark came with me as he's back in the UK for a bit, so we got together, popped into Burger King (I'm so bad), then headed up to Oxford where I was furnished with a rather natty spanky new Aiwa AM-HX50 which is absolutely teeny-weeny and wonderful. I shall love it as a friend and treasure it forever.

Until I sit on it.

I bought a printer as well. My initial plan was to buy an inkjet oneas they're quite cheap and the plan here is not to throw cash around. However in my defence they didn't have the one I was after (a Lexmark LX32 or something) but did have the model up, the 52 which came with a free QuickCam and only cost £129. However, I ended up going for a ickle cute laser printer which only cost "149 and came with five free reams of paper. Can't be too bad, really. Shame I can't yet get it to work despite the "Linux compatible" sticker. No doubt Mark will blame that on SuSE!

Looked at books to buy.

Met up with M_at and Tother in The Granby in the evening, which was fun despite me being hideously late as I got in the wrong lane on the Queen's Road and ended up somewhere I didn't want to be (Earley or some such!). Nonetheless, we had a few drinks then headed out for something to eat. They dashed back to London after that and I headed back into the Granby for an hour or two and a pleasant evening with Daniel.

There were two guys there. One huge (although only about .6 on the Pat scale) who looked like Mike McShane and the other, his boyfriend, who was about 21, slim, and gorgeous. I really couldn't figure it out as they were so completely different it was untrue. One of their friends (a scary camp man in a horrible shirt) kept groping me and only stopped when Stuart offered to have him ejected from the pub, although that didn't really stop him. Some other guy, whose name I forget, kept on trying it on as well. I would've been flattered but for the nail varnish...
