Today's mood: :-)

Broke my lampion from Julie because it decided it didn't like the mantlepiece after all. Pissed off about that, but nothing I can do.

Back up in to Oxford in the afternoon (it was originally supposed to be the morning but I got a little distracted) to take my minidisc deck back to Richer Sounds. It seemed to have difficulty coping with the first portions of discs in playback so I guess the laser transport was shagged or something. Certainly that was Matthew's diagnosis. Bought myself an ikkle teeny portable minidisc player (nothing to do with Jon's HipZip acquisition at all) as the Aiwa is getting a bit old and clunky and the rechargeable battery is shagged. It'll be useful for copying discs at home though. Not that I"d condone that kind of thing, of course.

Took my suit in to have the trousers altered but actually realised that with the chunky shoes I bought in Québec, I don't need them taking up. So that was a waste of ten minutes, although the assistant was incredibly cute.

After taking everything home and testing it, we got in the car and headed up to Ilford for a night out with Scott and Owen. We actually all ended up staying in in the end because none of us could be too bothered to head into town and some were running a bit low on moolah. Sal spent all evening pawing Tony (but in a fun way) which made us giggle.

Drank gallons of vodka/gin/wine and ate loads and smoked like a very smokey thing. (An analogy escapes me right now!)

Shared my Québec pictures (I collected them yesterday) with everyone. It was a good idea to have them burned on to CD - especially given it only cost me £2. Some of them were a bit wobbly (long exposures, fucking cold) but the majority were fantastic. It was nice to explain them all to everyone.

My recollections of my skiing prowess seemed to cause much amusement.

I am so bored with hearing about the American fucking President. When I switch on BBC News I expect news about the country I live in first. Quite narked about that. I wonder whether I'm the only one who has noticed George W. Bush looks like Chevy Chase? I find that incredibly disturbing. "National Lampoon's term in office."

Tony proved - rather athletically and comprehensively - that he is indeed a top after all. Very good he is at it too.

Smiley James.
