Readme File for CRYPTOCard RB-1 Software TOKEN Demo

System Requirements: Processor: 386 or Higher
		     Memory:    4 Megs of Ram
		     Disk Space: 0.8 Megs of Ram
		     O/S: MS Windows 3.1

Installation Instructions:
If the file was downloaded from CRYPTOCards FTP
site:
1)a) PKUNZIP rb1soft.zip file to temp directory
     i.e. at dos prompt 'pkunzip rb1soft'
                or
  b) Use WinZip, open rb1soft.zip, select install
     and follow instructions to install.
     CRYPTOCard RB-1 Software Token should now be
     installed on your system. Goto 4a)

2)a) if you unzipped the files to a temp directory
     (as in 1a) return to windows. Select File|RUN
     from the main menu.  Choose the file 
     c:\tempdir\install.exe, where 'tempdir' is the
     directory where you unzipped rb1soft.zip.

3)a) Run the file install.exe, follow instructions.
     CRYPTOCard RB-1 Software Token should now be
     installed on your system.

4)a) A new program group should have been added to 
     your windows program manager.  Double click on
     the rb1 icon to start the demo program.

If you received a CRYPTOCard RB-1 Demo Disk:

1)a) insert disk into drive a or b

2)a) Select File|RUN
     from the main menu.  Choose the file 
     a:\install.exe    
3)a) See 3a) above

IMPORTANT MESSAGE
*****************

This is only a DEMO program, although the DEMO TOKEN
is a fully functional DES Challenge/Response TOKEN
it should NOT be used in secure environments.  It 
was not designed to operate in a secure environment,
it was designed as a DEMO.  Therefore it stores the
logon PIN and DES Secret Key in the clear in a simple
text file on your system.  DO NOT use this DEMO
program for secure Challenge/Response Authentication.

The Demo program also has limited use, it will stop 
operating after 30 uses.

All files are put in the directory you choose (default
c:\rbsoft) at installation time.

You can obtain the latest version number by
selecting 'Help|About' from the main menu
while running rb1sft.exe.
This readme file was written at the 
1.0 beta version level.
