Secure passwords, also called one-time passwords, are ones that are different for each attempt to log on to a system that has been equipped with secure password technology. These passwords are generated by an authentication token carried by the user attempting the logon. The password is random and the next one unpredictable. Intercepting a dynamic password is valueless since the password is different for each login.

When attempting to logon to a network on which strong user authentication has been installed, the user enters his user ID and the dynamic password from his token. CRYPTOAdmin, CRYPTOCard's user authentication server that can predict the next dynamic password for any given authorized user, then validates the password.

CRYPTOCard offers strong authentication solutions to enhance Windows, Linux, and Solaris Security. These solutions allow organizations to implement the best and most stringent network security measures. CRYPTOCard products are easy to use and are designed to minimize user resistance. Secure Passwords greatly reduce the administration headache and thereby provide cost effective and user-friendly means of 2-factor authentication.
