The initial project of the Space Education Trust was fundraising to enable UK students to participate in the Summer session of the International Space University (ISU) . This is an ongoing project, and has been conducted every year since 1988. Four members of the SET Steering Committee have attended the International Space University. These are Flight Lieutenant Justin Paines, Mr. Jerel Whittingham, Ms. Sarah Dunkin (ISU 1995) and Ms. Emma Taylor (ISU 1995).
In addition to this, the Space Education Trust have acted as the trustees of UKSEDS (United Kingdom Students for the Exploration and Development of Space), since 1990. UKSEDS is a successful student based organisation established in 1988 by a couple of ex-ISU students.
The Space Education Trust has recently given its support to ESSTeL. ESSTel is run by two members of the SET Steering Committee, namely, Ms. Sarah Dunkin and Ms. Emma Taylor.
