Leased lines

We ordered a 14.4k leased line, and BT are installing a 64k line with convertor. Why, and surely it costs them the same?

This is not unusual.

Don't forget that you're paying for the bandwidth used on the trunk network. The capacity of the local loop has very little to do with it. When you want more BT will only have to change the MUX at your end.
