EPROM

The EPROM unit is an "Electrically Programmable Read-Only Memory" chip that contains basic KarlBridge software for disaster-recovery mode. If a Flash ROM-based unit is inaccessible for whatever reason (e.g. misconfiguration), the EPROM enables the user to restart the unit in Base Boot Mode. Base Boot Mode is a 'dumb' default state that allows the user to reconfigure the unit with the correct software and settings.

The EPROM chip is placed onto an Ethernet card in the Flash ROM system. Cards that have a socket for the EPROM include the KTI 10/100 and Kingston 10/100 cards.

If you wish to include the EPROM unit in your kit, please notify our Sales Department when ordering.
