Don't call the helpdesk about Demon's installation or your installation's progress. They will answer some technicall questions - but don't ask them about demon specific or OS specific information...

Questions I've asked and answers I've goten

The ADSL Helpdesk say that the Make and Model of the Router going in on the ADSL Trial is: Fujitsu/Westell ADSL (CAP/DMT) modem ATM-25/RJ-45

(ATM-25 means that it takes in an ATM 25Mbps and presents a RJ-45 Ethernet connection.)

{huge Thumbs up to Fujitsu and Alcatel for all their help for the next bit!}

The Modem's will be CAP (Carrierless Amplitude modulation Phase modulation) until April

The Modem's will be DMT (discrete multi-tone) after April with Alcatel chipset

There is no efective difference to the user between CAP & DMT (allegedly) but a DMT ADSL modem wont be able to work within a CAP infrastructure.

Westell data sheets (and a picture)

Described (I think)here is the modem.
